He has published numerous articles and presented at various national meetings.
Dr. Kim provides up to date, advanced urologic care for his patients in the Northwest community. This includes all general urologic conditions such as: oncology including laparoscopic technique for prostate, kidney and bladder cancer; BPH using the HPS/ XPS Greenlight laser system; complex stone care including endourology and percutaneous (PCNL) renal surgery for large (>2cm) stones; general infertility; general pediatrics. Dr. Kim also provides contemporary treatment for urinary incontinence using the TVT/TOT female sling and the ADVANCE male urethral sling.
Dr. Kim specializes in minimally invasive surgery, which includes the Davinci Robotic platform for the treatment of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer. Dr. Kim has performed over 200 radical prostatectomy cases. Dr. Kim’s Davinci surgery for prostate cancer provides many benefits for the majority of patients including shorter operative times (<2 hours), less blood loss (<150cc), shorter hospitalization (<48 hrs), and less narcotic requirements. In addition, Dr. Kim incorporates a modification of his surgery by creating an ‘internal male urethral sling’ to maintain the integrity of the position of the proximal urethra and improves future urinary continence. Dr. Kim serves on several committees at the hospital including the Cancer Committee, Prostate Advisory Board, and Davinci Steering Committee. He is also involved with community events including lectures and bi-annual prostate cancer screening.
